Arancini is a real candy for those who like sugared delicacies especially prepared for Christmas holidays.
The main ingredients of arancini are the orange peels, which are candied and aromatize.
The advantage of arancini is that candy can be kept for a long time in a glass jar, and can also be used for preparing cakes.
What is required for making arancini?
- Orange non-sprayed
- Vanilla bean
To begin with, slice orange peel in long strips to the desired thickness (not thicker than 5 mm).
To reduce the bitterness of orange peel, place the strips in cold water, let it boil and cook for about 5 minutes. Repeat this process two more times, each time in new cold water. Drain peels out and leaves them to cool.
In a new bowl, combine the water and sugar in a ratio of 1: 1 and if desired, add half a cup of wine and vanilla pod and cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and you get syrup.
Add the strips of orange peel so that they are mostly covered with syrup, reduce the heat and allow cooking for half an hour.
Leave the peel in the syrup to cool and then remove it; drain peels and arrange them on a baking sheet, each strip separately.
Leave it overnight to slowly dry out, and the next day, generously sprinkle them with sugar and enjoy in your sweet snack.
